Narrative:
After selecting slats 0 degrees, slat system #1 and #2 illuminated on the overhead panel. Slats also illuminated on slat/flap position indicator. Informed ATC we would most likely be returning to mia. Asked to level at 5000 ft. Performed volume 2 procedures. Returned to mia. No emergency declared. Landed under maximum landing weight. Dispatch mia operations notified of our return. Landed with no further problems. Cvr circuit breaker pulled.
