Narrative:
Mouse jumped out of carts in forward galley and ran into cabin. #1 flight attendant entered event in cabin maintenance log and did not inform appropriate auths. We were the departing crew. New #1 flight attendant informed us of discrepancy in cabin maintenance log after takeoff. Such event should have been entered in aircraft cockpit maintenance log, and aircraft either fumigated or mouse disposed of prior to departure. Mouse has the potential to nibble on wiring, causing short circuits.
