Narrative:
We were cleared to cross the logen intersection on the macey 2 arrival into atl. The clearance was to cross at 14000 ft. During the FMS controled descent, we were instructed to slow to 280 KTS. I intervened manually with the autoplt, removing the FMS from controling the autoplt. After slowing, it appeared we would make the crossing restr. At that time a flight attendant entered the cockpit. This distraction caused us to go high on the descent. We were about 1200 ft high (approximately 15200 ft) at logen intersection. I allowed the distraction of the flight attendant to take my attention away from the descent profile and missed that the aircraft was going high and drag was required to make the crossing.

Title: A B757 CAPT ADMITTED BEING DISTRACTED BY AN FLT ATTENDANT INTERRUPTION, CAUSING HIM TO NEGLECT THE MONITORING OF THE FO ON MAKING THE XING RESTR WITH A80.
Narrative: WE WERE CLRED TO CROSS THE LOGEN INTXN ON THE MACEY 2 ARR INTO ATL. THE CLRNC WAS TO CROSS AT 14000 FT. DURING THE FMS CTLED DSCNT, WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO SLOW TO 280 KTS. I INTERVENED MANUALLY WITH THE AUTOPLT, REMOVING THE FMS FROM CTLING THE AUTOPLT. AFTER SLOWING, IT APPEARED WE WOULD MAKE THE XING RESTR. AT THAT TIME A FLT ATTENDANT ENTERED THE COCKPIT. THIS DISTR CAUSED US TO GO HIGH ON THE DSCNT. WE WERE ABOUT 1200 FT HIGH (APPROX 15200 FT) AT LOGEN INTXN. I ALLOWED THE DISTR OF THE FLT ATTENDANT TO TAKE MY ATTN AWAY FROM THE DSCNT PROFILE AND MISSED THAT THE ACFT WAS GOING HIGH AND DRAG WAS REQUIRED TO MAKE THE XING.
