Narrative:
Sector 50 (lanier) on an inbound rush (XA20-XC00), working several aircraft. Main and standby were notamed OTS earlier. We were told they were usable again, so we went back to the main frequency (124.37). Several readbacks from pilots were garbled and many were not received at all. Having to give xmissions 2 or more times made me get too far behind and on working the aircraft down inbound to atlanta. It was so busy that this could have become an unsafe situation.
