Narrative:
ATC left us at a very high altitude very close to the airport. The situation was further aggravated by the approach controller issuing a vector which took us very close to the runway. We were cleared for a visual approach. In an attempt to lose altitude, we initiated a 270 degree turn to realign with the runway at an appropriate altitude. As we turned onto final, we received a TA/RA for a B1900. The tower canceled our approach clearance, and re-vectored us for a safe landing.

Title: AN EMB145 CAPT, ATTEMPTING TO LAND AT ACY, EXPERIENCED AN RA ON FINAL.
Narrative: ATC LEFT US AT A VERY HIGH ALT VERY CLOSE TO THE ARPT. THE SIT WAS FURTHER AGGRAVATED BY THE APCH CTLR ISSUING A VECTOR WHICH TOOK US VERY CLOSE TO THE RWY. WE WERE CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH. IN AN ATTEMPT TO LOSE ALT, WE INITIATED A 270 DEG TURN TO REALIGN WITH THE RWY AT AN APPROPRIATE ALT. AS WE TURNED ONTO FINAL, WE RECEIVED A TA/RA FOR A B1900. THE TWR CANCELED OUR APCH CLRNC, AND RE-VECTORED US FOR A SAFE LNDG.
