Narrative:
Cruising at 1500 ft MSL (1400 ft AGL), sudden loss of power from 2400 RPM to 1900 RPM. Corrective actions unsuccessful (mixture/rich, carburetor heat on, magneto check, fuel on). Aircraft began descent at 200 FPM. Selected a cow pasture and landed, upwind. Partial contact with barbed-wire fence. No injuries or aircraft damage. Sheriff helicopter and automatic on scene within 10 mins.
