Narrative:
During the climb out (climbing to FL180) from iad, the purser notified me that door 2R had been unmanned during the takeoff. She informed me she had just found out that the crew desk had removed the crew member and she had not been informed. There was a complete breakdown in communication with the crew desk in not notifying the purser and the flight attendant assigned to door 2L regarding the absence of a missing flight attendant at door 2R before departure. I think it's also the responsibility of the crew member to let the purser know if she has been removed from that flight, especially if the flight attendant briefing has been complete and door assignments have been given out.

Title: WDB TOOK OFF WITHOUT A CABIN ATTENDANT MANNING CABIN DOOR.
Narrative: DURING THE CLBOUT (CLBING TO FL180) FROM IAD, THE PURSER NOTIFIED ME THAT DOOR 2R HAD BEEN UNMANNED DURING THE TKOF. SHE INFORMED ME SHE HAD JUST FOUND OUT THAT THE CREW DESK HAD REMOVED THE CREW MEMBER AND SHE HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED. THERE WAS A COMPLETE BREAKDOWN IN COM WITH THE CREW DESK IN NOT NOTIFYING THE PURSER AND THE FLT ATTENDANT ASSIGNED TO DOOR 2L REGARDING THE ABSENCE OF A MISSING FLT ATTENDANT AT DOOR 2R BEFORE DEP. I THINK IT'S ALSO THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CREW MEMBER TO LET THE PURSER KNOW IF SHE HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THAT FLT, ESPECIALLY IF THE FLT ATTENDANT BRIEFING HAS BEEN COMPLETE AND DOOR ASSIGNMENTS HAVE BEEN GIVEN OUT.
