Narrative:
We were parking on a military base at anchorage when we were given clearance to back-taxi and exit on taxiway C. The next day we were given a clearance to cross runway 6L, but no taxiway to use was given. I assumed the same clearance as the day before. ATC assumed I knew what was standard at the military base (use taxiway east) since we were a C130 coming from the military base. Since we were a transient crew, we were unfamiliar with standard taxi plans at anchorage. I believe it would solve these problems if ATC was specific in their instructions (don't assume the crew knows what you want) and should confirm the crew reads back the correct clearance to cross. Crews should read back clrncs to cross as heard so ATC can know what the crew understood.

Title: C130 MIL CAPT INADVERTENTLY TAXIED ONTO RWY DURING TAXI OUT SINCE HE WAS NOT GIVEN TAXI RTE INSTRUCTIONS, HE FOLLOWED THE REVERSE OF HIS TAXI IN RTE. ATCT GND CTLR NOTICED MISTAKE AND ADJUSTED HIS RTE ACCORDINGLY.
Narrative: WE WERE PARKING ON A MIL BASE AT ANCHORAGE WHEN WE WERE GIVEN CLRNC TO BACK-TAXI AND EXIT ON TXWY C. THE NEXT DAY WE WERE GIVEN A CLRNC TO CROSS RWY 6L, BUT NO TXWY TO USE WAS GIVEN. I ASSUMED THE SAME CLRNC AS THE DAY BEFORE. ATC ASSUMED I KNEW WHAT WAS STANDARD AT THE MIL BASE (USE TXWY E) SINCE WE WERE A C130 COMING FROM THE MIL BASE. SINCE WE WERE A TRANSIENT CREW, WE WERE UNFAMILIAR WITH STANDARD TAXI PLANS AT ANCHORAGE. I BELIEVE IT WOULD SOLVE THESE PROBS IF ATC WAS SPECIFIC IN THEIR INSTRUCTIONS (DON'T ASSUME THE CREW KNOWS WHAT YOU WANT) AND SHOULD CONFIRM THE CREW READS BACK THE CORRECT CLRNC TO CROSS. CREWS SHOULD READ BACK CLRNCS TO CROSS AS HEARD SO ATC CAN KNOW WHAT THE CREW UNDERSTOOD.
