Narrative:
I was on an IFR flight plan from gri to 04Y. Descending from 9000 ft en route into 04Y, the engine started to vibrate. I informed far approach about engine failure. They vectored me to wahpeton, nd, airport. With some small amount of engine power, I arrived over the airport around 4000 ft. I then circled down to land, but had excess airspeed, bounced on landing and after final touchdown ran out of runway. Stopped in overrun area with nosewheel collapsed and propeller strike. After landing, a crack in the engine case was found. The windshield was covered with oil which was also a factor.

Title: MOONEY M20P PLT LOST PWR AND ASKED APCH CTL TO GUIDE HIM TO THE NEAREST ARPT TO MAKE AN EMER FORCED LNDG. HIS VISION WAS LIMITED DURING LNDG DUE THE WINDSHIELD COVERED WITH ENG OIL AND HE RAN OFF THE END OF THE RWY. THE ACFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE PROP AND THE NOSEWHEEL COLLAPSED.
