Narrative:

In cruise flight at FL240, TCASII gave a TA of traffic at 11 O'clock and 5 mi descending. Then an RA to descend. I was the PF, so I disconnected the autoplt and followed the guidance to descend at approximately 700 FPM to FL232. The captain advised ATC of our deviation as I started the descent. Once clear of traffic and after being cleared by ZNY on frequency 132.17 we climbed to FL240. Nothing further.
