Narrative:
Copilot flying arrival into sfo. We had planned on the FMS bridge visual and had it set up in the FMS. Approach told us to intercept runway 28R localizer and fly inbound. Set that up on FMS and started complying. Next controller told us cleared to archi intersection and resume FMS bridge. As I was setting this up once again in the FMS, the copilot set 1800 ft in altitude alert window since that was the ending altitude on the FMS approach at samul. The problem was that I had not fully set up and executed the FMS approach. By the time I caught up and manually tuned in the sfo VOR to assure compliance with the altitudes, we had descended below 6000 ft prior to trdow. Flew the rest of the approach per the procedure. Next time I will leave the FMS bridge approach in the FMS and just intercept the localizer without the aid of the FMS. The copilot should confer with me prior to setting in the final approach altitude. The controllers complicated a simple procedure by forcing us to set up the approach 3 times.

Title: O90 CHANGE APCH COURSE TWICE, AS B757 FLC SET UP FLC COURSE 3 TIMES, ANTICIPATING APCH TO BE FLOWN, AND EVENTUALLY OVERSHOOT INITIAL APCH ALT.
Narrative: COPLT FLYING ARR INTO SFO. WE HAD PLANNED ON THE FMS BRIDGE VISUAL AND HAD IT SET UP IN THE FMS. APCH TOLD US TO INTERCEPT RWY 28R LOC AND FLY INBOUND. SET THAT UP ON FMS AND STARTED COMPLYING. NEXT CTLR TOLD US CLRED TO ARCHI INTXN AND RESUME FMS BRIDGE. AS I WAS SETTING THIS UP ONCE AGAIN IN THE FMS, THE COPLT SET 1800 FT IN ALT ALERT WINDOW SINCE THAT WAS THE ENDING ALT ON THE FMS APCH AT SAMUL. THE PROB WAS THAT I HAD NOT FULLY SET UP AND EXECUTED THE FMS APCH. BY THE TIME I CAUGHT UP AND MANUALLY TUNED IN THE SFO VOR TO ASSURE COMPLIANCE WITH THE ALTS, WE HAD DSNDED BELOW 6000 FT PRIOR TO TRDOW. FLEW THE REST OF THE APCH PER THE PROC. NEXT TIME I WILL LEAVE THE FMS BRIDGE APCH IN THE FMS AND JUST INTERCEPT THE LOC WITHOUT THE AID OF THE FMS. THE COPLT SHOULD CONFER WITH ME PRIOR TO SETTING IN THE FINAL APCH ALT. THE CTLRS COMPLICATED A SIMPLE PROC BY FORCING US TO SET UP THE APCH 3 TIMES.
