Narrative:
On the morning of aug/thu/01, after departing dca-atl, I had trouble with the FMS on the climb. Departing runway 1 I turned left to follow P-56 noise abatement procedures and intercept the 328 degree radial. I followed the river until I realized the FMS had told me to select a different navigation frequency. For positioning purposes, I then quickly changed the navigation frequency to 111.00 and turned again to intercept 328 degree radial. ATC then gave me a vector for departure and we turned to that heading. ATC then gave me a phone number to call once on the ground. I had written the FMS up that morning for a problem. The mechanic downloaded a new database, but it had problems after that trying to find its position. ATC said that I broke P-56 noise abatement.

Title: AN ERJ145 FLT CREW EXPERIENCES AN FMS ANOMALY AFTER DEP FROM DCA WHICH LED TO THE ACFT INADVERTENTLY PENETRATING THE P-56 AIRSPACE.
Narrative: ON THE MORNING OF AUG/THU/01, AFTER DEPARTING DCA-ATL, I HAD TROUBLE WITH THE FMS ON THE CLB. DEPARTING RWY 1 I TURNED L TO FOLLOW P-56 NOISE ABATEMENT PROCS AND INTERCEPT THE 328 DEG RADIAL. I FOLLOWED THE RIVER UNTIL I REALIZED THE FMS HAD TOLD ME TO SELECT A DIFFERENT NAV FREQ. FOR POSITIONING PURPOSES, I THEN QUICKLY CHANGED THE NAV FREQ TO 111.00 AND TURNED AGAIN TO INTERCEPT 328 DEG RADIAL. ATC THEN GAVE ME A VECTOR FOR DEP AND WE TURNED TO THAT HEADING. ATC THEN GAVE ME A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL ONCE ON THE GND. I HAD WRITTEN THE FMS UP THAT MORNING FOR A PROB. THE MECH DOWNLOADED A NEW DATABASE, BUT IT HAD PROBS AFTER THAT TRYING TO FIND ITS POS. ATC SAID THAT I BROKE P-56 NOISE ABATEMENT.
