Narrative:

Due to improper maintenance procedures aircraft release for service and weight and balance 36 month recertification overflown by 2 days. Stress proper maintenance procedures be utilized at all times. Maintenance technicians should review all paperwork/records prior to releasing aircraft for flight. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that the company computer read out status of the 36 month reweigh requirement showed it past due. However, the maintenance records showed a different date that reflected that it had not. Therefore, the actual reweigh is being accomplished to assure compliance. He requested that his public notary affidavit be returned to him for use in case needed for him to prove timely ASRS reporting if ever needed.

Title: MBB BK117 B1 HELI CAPT RPTS THAT HE FLEW THE ACFT 2 DAYS PAST THE 36 MONTH ACFT REWEIGH FAR REQUIREMENT, DUE TO COMPANY MAINT OVERLOOKING IT DURING THE MAJOR RECENT INSPECTION.

Narrative: DUE TO IMPROPER MAINT PROCS ACFT RELEASE FOR SVC AND WT AND BAL 36 MONTH RECERTIFICATION OVERFLOWN BY 2 DAYS. STRESS PROPER MAINT PROCS BE UTILIZED AT ALL TIMES. MAINT TECHNICIANS SHOULD REVIEW ALL PAPERWORK/RECORDS PRIOR TO RELEASING ACFT FOR FLT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT THE COMPANY COMPUTER READ OUT STATUS OF THE 36 MONTH REWEIGH REQUIREMENT SHOWED IT PAST DUE. HOWEVER, THE MAINT RECORDS SHOWED A DIFFERENT DATE THAT REFLECTED THAT IT HAD NOT. THEREFORE, THE ACTUAL REWEIGH IS BEING ACCOMPLISHED TO ASSURE COMPLIANCE. HE REQUESTED THAT HIS PUBLIC NOTARY AFFIDAVIT BE RETURNED TO HIM FOR USE IN CASE NEEDED FOR HIM TO PROVE TIMELY ASRS RPTING IF EVER NEEDED.
