Narrative:
MD80 on approach to runway 35C. After aircraft was on about a 3 mi final, tower called aircraft because he hadn't checked in. No response. Tower called approach control to switch aircraft XXX. No response. Controller checked with other controllers in the tower to see if they could raise aircraft XXX, to no avail. Aircraft landed without clearance and approached runway 35L (departure runway). Controller canceled departures on runway 35L and attempted to contact air carrier XXX and tell him to hold short of runway 35L. After several mins, finally talked to aircraft XXX operation resumed.
