Narrative:

Flew from ZZZ to XXX, laid over and then back again. Same plane...what had been a nuisance on the initial leg out from ZZZ to XXX of a slight pull to the left during taxi was bothersome after another leg. Wrote up that the plane pulled during taxi...maintenance was on the scene upon our arrival into the gate at ZZZ. Even before the jet bridge had been moved, he informed me we had a flat tire on the nose. In hindsight it seems very obvious that is what was causing the pull, but other than that, we had no indications, ie, vibration, or bumping. The first officer did both walkarounds in daylight conditions and said he didn't notice anything wrong with the gauge. Having never experienced this, I was thinking the steering was out of rig. Had that other tire gone on takeoff or landing roll, we could have been in a serious situation very quickly.
