Narrative:
On aug/mon/01 while releasing abc, the logbook was not understandable. I called technician in XXX, spoke to mr X, and explained again what several other crew chiefs were trying to accomplish. He told me to void the cleared MEL because 2 placards were already installed. This entry was entered in error. On log page, a new placard was installed to cover the 2 that were open on the same item.

Title: A SUPVR RPTS FAILURE OF THE LEAD TECHNICIANS TO REMOVE PLACARDS AND CLR THE DEFERRED ITEM FROM THE LOGBOOK WHEN THE ITEM IS CLRED.
Narrative: ON AUG/MON/01 WHILE RELEASING ABC, THE LOGBOOK WAS NOT UNDERSTANDABLE. I CALLED TECHNICIAN IN XXX, SPOKE TO MR X, AND EXPLAINED AGAIN WHAT SEVERAL OTHER CREW CHIEFS WERE TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH. HE TOLD ME TO VOID THE CLRED MEL BECAUSE 2 PLACARDS WERE ALREADY INSTALLED. THIS ENTRY WAS ENTERED IN ERROR. ON LOG PAGE, A NEW PLACARD WAS INSTALLED TO COVER THE 2 THAT WERE OPEN ON THE SAME ITEM.
