Narrative:
On approach to lax, we were being radar vectored. The captain (who was the PNF) requested runway 25L. Approach control acknowledged our request. Our instruments were set up for runway 25L ILS. We were assigned 210 degrees on the heading, 3000 ft and 180 KTS. Then the controller told us to expect runway 24R and asked us if we had a B767 about 5 mi ahead. The captain replied 'I believe I have the traffic in sight.' apparently we were cleared for a visual approach to runway 26R. I never heard we were cleared. Consequently, I maintained my assigned heading and altitude. At that time the captain had his head down setting up my instruments for runway 24R localizer. When he came back up, he realized I had crossed runway 24L localizer by about 1 1/2 degrees. At that time he told me we were cleared and to correct back to the right to get on the localizer. When we switched to tower, he prompted us to turn to a 270 degree heading to get back to the localizer. We got back on the localizer and then we were cleared for landing.

Title: ACR FLT CREW RECEIVE RWY CHANGE ON FINAL TO LAX, BUT CAPT (PNF) DOES NOT NOTIFY FO (PF).
Narrative: ON APCH TO LAX, WE WERE BEING RADAR VECTORED. THE CAPT (WHO WAS THE PNF) REQUESTED RWY 25L. APCH CTL ACKNOWLEDGED OUR REQUEST. OUR INSTS WERE SET UP FOR RWY 25L ILS. WE WERE ASSIGNED 210 DEGS ON THE HDG, 3000 FT AND 180 KTS. THEN THE CTLR TOLD US TO EXPECT RWY 24R AND ASKED US IF WE HAD A B767 ABOUT 5 MI AHEAD. THE CAPT REPLIED 'I BELIEVE I HAVE THE TFC IN SIGHT.' APPARENTLY WE WERE CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 26R. I NEVER HEARD WE WERE CLRED. CONSEQUENTLY, I MAINTAINED MY ASSIGNED HDG AND ALT. AT THAT TIME THE CAPT HAD HIS HEAD DOWN SETTING UP MY INSTS FOR RWY 24R LOC. WHEN HE CAME BACK UP, HE REALIZED I HAD CROSSED RWY 24L LOC BY ABOUT 1 1/2 DEGS. AT THAT TIME HE TOLD ME WE WERE CLRED AND TO CORRECT BACK TO THE R TO GET ON THE LOC. WHEN WE SWITCHED TO TWR, HE PROMPTED US TO TURN TO A 270 DEG HDG TO GET BACK TO THE LOC. WE GOT BACK ON THE LOC AND THEN WE WERE CLRED FOR LNDG.
