Narrative:

Please be advised that on the above date I was taxiing toward the active runway when the tower operator called out, 'you have gone past the hold line.' I stopped immediately and looked at my position. I observed the hold line up further from my position and advised the tower that the hold line was ahead of me, a few more feet. He told me that the one I just passed was the current hold line. I advised him that the old, or not current, line was still quite visible facing the departure end of the runway. He seemed rather upset about the situation. I acted as I would on any other taxi to the hold line and was going to stop at same. I asked what he wanted me to do. He never gave an answer that I could relate to. I was cleared for takeoff. I left. This was a situation that I have never been confronted with in all my flying yrs. If, in fact, they were trying to move the hold line, the old line should be marked out.
