Narrative:

We were just coming back from a 3 day trip. On descent into seattle, we found out that all the arrs and approachs had been changed while we were gone. We did not have the current ILS approach to runway 16R. I asked the controller if we could do the old approach (which had the final approach fix at park) and he said no. Since I didn't have the new approach (which had some major changes in it), I asked again. He again said no. He cleared me for the ILS 16R. I started down on the old approach and broke out at about 1400 ft AGL. I was told to contact tower. I contacted tower and advised them we were on a 'visual' since I was unsure of what kind of approach I was really on. The rest of the landing was uneventful. I found out later that the airline that I work for had the chart revision, but that they were late out to the line pilots due to personnel taking vacation. They were distributed while we were on the road.
