Narrative:
I was the first officer on this flight. I noticed the captain checking the logbook for some time and assumed it was ok, so I did not look at it myself. There was quite a lot of activity in the cabin dealing with passenger problems, wrong passenger on our aircraft, reseating, etc, just prior to pushback. About 1 hour after takeoff the #1 flight attendant brought up some cabin write-ups which must have jogged his memory about the logbook. He then realized that those same 2 cabin items were in the logbook and were still open write-ups. They were not safety of flight (lavatory and reading light, I believe). However, they were open write-ups nonetheless. We informed maintenance about the situation and they said that they would take care of it and get it resolved.
