Narrative:
After pushback from our gate in el paso, tx, I contacted ground control and was instructed to 'taxi to runway 8 and remain clear of the approach area.' the captain made a hard 180 degree turn and taxied forward about 100 ft or 150 ft to hold short of the approach area. We were now pointed the wrong way on taxiway F which is 'one way' in that location. ATC asked us to turn right and taxi down the ramp to hold short at a different location. The taxiway is well marked on the chart and in fact I had mentioned it on my approach briefing when we were inbound. I never saw, however, the 'do not enter' sign, which is charted to be at the taxiway entrance. Our situation was mainly due to lack of a thorough taxi plan. I plan to ensure we have a taxi plan in the future, even for short taxies, and perhaps painted markings on the pavement in el paso would help out there.

Title: B727 CAPT INADVERTENTLY TAXIED ONTO A ONE WAY TXWY POINTED IN THE WRONG DIRECTION DURING TAXI OUT FOR TKOF. TWR GND CTLR TURNED THEM RIGHT AND ROUTED THEM TO THE RWY THRESHOLD HOLD SHORT AREA.
Narrative: AFTER PUSHBACK FROM OUR GATE IN EL PASO, TX, I CONTACTED GND CTL AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO 'TAXI TO RWY 8 AND REMAIN CLR OF THE APCH AREA.' THE CAPT MADE A HARD 180 DEG TURN AND TAXIED FORWARD ABOUT 100 FT OR 150 FT TO HOLD SHORT OF THE APCH AREA. WE WERE NOW POINTED THE WRONG WAY ON TXWY F WHICH IS 'ONE WAY' IN THAT LOCATION. ATC ASKED US TO TURN R AND TAXI DOWN THE RAMP TO HOLD SHORT AT A DIFFERENT LOCATION. THE TXWY IS WELL MARKED ON THE CHART AND IN FACT I HAD MENTIONED IT ON MY APCH BRIEFING WHEN WE WERE INBOUND. I NEVER SAW, HOWEVER, THE 'DO NOT ENTER' SIGN, WHICH IS CHARTED TO BE AT THE TXWY ENTRANCE. OUR SIT WAS MAINLY DUE TO LACK OF A THOROUGH TAXI PLAN. I PLAN TO ENSURE WE HAVE A TAXI PLAN IN THE FUTURE, EVEN FOR SHORT TAXIES, AND PERHAPS PAINTED MARKINGS ON THE PAVEMENT IN EL PASO WOULD HELP OUT THERE.
