Narrative:
Climbing out on departure, exceeded assigned altitude by 300 ft. Correction without incident then given instructions and vector to intercept V449. I dialed in wrong radial and was corrected by ATC. It took me quite a while to figure out what I had done wrong. I was flying under personal stress and I also had a cold. I believe I could have avoided this by better self evaluating my flight readiness and better review and attention to my IFR flight procedures.
