Narrative:
The flight departed fresno international airport (fat). When turning crosswind at approximately 2500 ft, the right engine began to surge and lose power intermittently. An emergency was declared and we were given clearance to land on runway 29R. The approach and landing were uneventful.

Title: AN EMB 120 FLT HAS TO RETURN/LAND WHEN THE R ENG LOSES PWR AFTER TKOF FROM FAT, CA.
Narrative: THE FLT DEPARTED FRESNO INTERNATIONAL ARPT (FAT). WHEN TURNING XWIND AT APPROX 2500 FT, THE R ENG BEGAN TO SURGE AND LOSE PWR INTERMITTENTLY. AN EMER WAS DECLARED AND WE WERE GIVEN CLRNC TO LAND ON RWY 29R. THE APCH AND LNDG WERE UNEVENTFUL.
