Narrative:
On approach to ord runway 4R, we were cleared to 7000 ft and descended to 6600 ft. We caught the incident when our altitude alerter went off. We corrected right away and did not hear of any near miss either with ATC or TCASII.

Title: APCHING ORD, AN ACR CREW IS ALERTED TO THEIR ALT OVERSHOOT BY THE ALT ALERTER AND RETURNS IMMEDIATELY TO THEIR ASSIGNED ALT.
Narrative: ON APCH TO ORD RWY 4R, WE WERE CLRED TO 7000 FT AND DSNDED TO 6600 FT. WE CAUGHT THE INCIDENT WHEN OUR ALT ALERTER WENT OFF. WE CORRECTED RIGHT AWAY AND DID NOT HEAR OF ANY NEAR MISS EITHER WITH ATC OR TCASII.
