Narrative:
On arrival at mco the agents had difficulty opening the main entrance door. It took two agents and the flight attendant from the inside to open the door. It also would not close easily. We had contract maintenance at mco check the door. He found the door very heavy but okay for service. The door slide cover was loose but not the slide. After the jet bridge had been pulled and just prior to pushback the ground crew noticed the door handles were not properly closed. I went back to make sure the door inside door handle was completely down. It was showing closed on the cockpit annunciators. I obviously cycled the handle too far as the slide deployed. It did deploy normally and did not cause any injuries or damage to the aircraft.
