Narrative:
Due to being distraction, and moving the airplane 10 ft aft, so as to complete the walkaround inspection, the PIC failed to close and lock the nose baggage door prior to takeoff. Upon liftoff, the door lifted up into the airstream, and was damaged. The PIC successfully landed the airplane, and that was the extent of the incident. To avoid this from happening, the pilot had a self-imposed rule -- he would always close and lock the nose bag door immediately -- even when he knew it would have to be reopened. This rule will be strictly enforced henceforth!
