Narrative:
Departed lga for scheduled flight to pvd. On takeoff roll everything was normal. At 700-800 ft, received right engine oil pressure annunciator. I was PF at the time, handed controls over to captain. As I was grabbing for the checklist, I saw the engine oil pressure was below red line, oil temperature cooling. Went right into engine shutdown checklist, shut down engine. We were told to go to departure right before annunciator warning. We then went to departure after engine was shut down from memory checklist, declared an emergency and asked for immediate return. I ran rest of checklists as captain briefed flight attendant and spoke to ATC. During turn back, acquired visual for runway 22, proceeded visually using the ILS as a back-up. Landed without incident. Taxied under own power back to gate. The mechanic told us that 3 quarts of oil were still remaining and oil cap was not properly seated.
