Narrative:
Before boarding for departure an old metal flatware dinner knife was found in a cabin search. The knife appeared to have just been dropped and left for some time as it was dirty. I report this, not because I see the knife so much as threat, but because we have not had these knives on the planes for some time. During that time, this plane was supposed to have been searched fully many times yet this 5 inch metal knife was not found until this en route (not first flight of day) search. Credit to the people in cun for a job well done. Better their work had been done by those who should have found it long ago.
