Narrative:
We were given a taxi clearance to runway 12R. Due to the nighttime conditions and my unfamiliarity with the airport, I asked the controller for a somewhat progressive up to runway 12R. Upon reaching the end of runway 12R and runway 17, we were told to make a hard left turn for position and hold on runway 12R. We were beyond the runway number markings and could not confirm by looking at them. I was busy doing before takeoff checklists and did not confirm which runway we were on until we were beginning takeoff checklists and did not confirm which runway we were on until we were beginning takeoff roll. Not until well into the takeoff roll did we realize that we were on runway 17 instead of runway 12R. At that point it was too late to abort, so we continued. There were no other aircraft that we interfered with or endangered. My fault as the PNF was that I did not doublechk the captain before we began the takeoff. Night operations at an unfamiliar airport also came into play. A simple check of the directional gyro would have also prevented this.

Title: FA50 CREW TOOK OFF ON THE WRONG RWY AT NIGHT AT ZZZ, US.
Narrative: WE WERE GIVEN A TAXI CLRNC TO RWY 12R. DUE TO THE NIGHTTIME CONDITIONS AND MY UNFAMILIARITY WITH THE ARPT, I ASKED THE CTLR FOR A SOMEWHAT PROGRESSIVE UP TO RWY 12R. UPON REACHING THE END OF RWY 12R AND RWY 17, WE WERE TOLD TO MAKE A HARD L TURN FOR POS AND HOLD ON RWY 12R. WE WERE BEYOND THE RWY NUMBER MARKINGS AND COULD NOT CONFIRM BY LOOKING AT THEM. I WAS BUSY DOING BEFORE TKOF CHKLISTS AND DID NOT CONFIRM WHICH RWY WE WERE ON UNTIL WE WERE BEGINNING TKOF CHKLISTS AND DID NOT CONFIRM WHICH RWY WE WERE ON UNTIL WE WERE BEGINNING TKOF ROLL. NOT UNTIL WELL INTO THE TKOF ROLL DID WE REALIZE THAT WE WERE ON RWY 17 INSTEAD OF RWY 12R. AT THAT POINT IT WAS TOO LATE TO ABORT, SO WE CONTINUED. THERE WERE NO OTHER ACFT THAT WE INTERFERED WITH OR ENDANGERED. MY FAULT AS THE PNF WAS THAT I DID NOT DOUBLECHK THE CAPT BEFORE WE BEGAN THE TKOF. NIGHT OPS AT AN UNFAMILIAR ARPT ALSO CAME INTO PLAY. A SIMPLE CHK OF THE DIRECTIONAL GYRO WOULD HAVE ALSO PREVENTED THIS.
