Narrative:
Shortage of power on takeoff. Left engine would not develop full power after takeoff. Contributing factors: problems with the waste gate on left engine. Discovered as the aircraft would not climb. Decided to put aircraft on the ground beside the runway. Minor damage to the skin and propellers. No structural damage or injuries were involved. I did not feel the incident was rptable to the NTSB.
