Narrative:
Struck tow bar with left nose tire. Normal pushback from gate xx to the 'south spot.' set parking brake on command from the mechanic. With brake set, first officer contacted ZZZ 'metering' on VHF-1, 120.35, and 'metering' told him to contact ZZZ ground control. Captain helped monitor 'metering' and heard ground control give taxi clearance. With no communication from the mechanic, upon hearing taxi clearance, captain released the parking brake and the nose tire impacted the tow bar. Taxied aircraft back to the gate with maintenance concurrence and left nose tire was replaced. 1 hour 25 min delay.

Title: AN AIRBUS 320 AFTER PUSHBACK FROM THE GATE AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TOWBAR WAS DISCONNECTED THE ACFT MOVED FORWARD DAMAGING THE L NOSE GEAR TIRE.
Narrative: STRUCK TOW BAR WITH L NOSE TIRE. NORMAL PUSHBACK FROM GATE XX TO THE 'S SPOT.' SET PARKING BRAKE ON COMMAND FROM THE MECH. WITH BRAKE SET, FO CONTACTED ZZZ 'METERING' ON VHF-1, 120.35, AND 'METERING' TOLD HIM TO CONTACT ZZZ GND CTL. CAPT HELPED MONITOR 'METERING' AND HEARD GND CTL GIVE TAXI CLRNC. WITH NO COM FROM THE MECH, UPON HEARING TAXI CLRNC, CAPT RELEASED THE PARKING BRAKE AND THE NOSE TIRE IMPACTED THE TOW BAR. TAXIED ACFT BACK TO THE GATE WITH MAINT CONCURRENCE AND L NOSE TIRE WAS REPLACED. 1 HR 25 MIN DELAY.
