Narrative:
Right engine fuel heat valve apparently opened in-flight, necessitating an in-flight engine shutdown due to oil temperature entering the caution range. An emergency was declared with ZTL, arff requested, and dispatch notified. Landed uneventfully and canceled emergency. Everyone deplaned at the gate with no apparent problems.

Title: MD80 CREW WAS REQUIRED TO SHUT DOWN AN ENG BECAUSE THE FUEL HEAT PNEUMATIC VALVE WAS STRUCK OPEN.
Narrative: R ENG FUEL HEAT VALVE APPARENTLY OPENED INFLT, NECESSITATING AN INFLT ENG SHUTDOWN DUE TO OIL TEMP ENTERING THE CAUTION RANGE. AN EMER WAS DECLARED WITH ZTL, ARFF REQUESTED, AND DISPATCH NOTIFIED. LANDED UNEVENTFULLY AND CANCELED EMER. EVERYONE DEPLANED AT THE GATE WITH NO APPARENT PROBS.
