Narrative:

Flight attendant #1 told me that captain informed her we were diverting to ZZZ and to put everything (service items) in cabin away immediately. He said it would be a normal landing and deplaning. Subsequently informed after landing in ZZZ that oil filter light was illuminating in cockpit, aircraft taken OTS. Another aircraft was brought in and we departed.

Title: AN MD80 DIVERTS TO AN ENRTE STATION.

Narrative: FLT ATTENDANT #1 TOLD ME THAT CAPT INFORMED HER WE WERE DIVERTING TO ZZZ AND TO PUT EVERYTHING (SVC ITEMS) IN CABIN AWAY IMMEDIATELY. HE SAID IT WOULD BE A NORMAL LNDG AND DEPLANING. SUBSEQUENTLY INFORMED AFTER LNDG IN ZZZ THAT OIL FILTER LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATING IN COCKPIT, ACFT TAKEN OTS. ANOTHER ACFT WAS BROUGHT IN AND WE DEPARTED.
