Narrative:
After arriving at the aircraft and checking the MEL/logbook and conferring with the captain, it was determined I would be the PNF. I exited the aircraft and conducted a thorough inspection of the aircraft exterior as required. I am confident that I verified that the ground lock pin was removed from all landing gear, and that the nose gear steering lockout pin was installed. On completion of the exterior inspection, I returned to the cockpit and completed all appropriate checklists. The departure was normal until we could not raise the gear. The captain and company ZZZ determined that we would continue toward our destination and divert, rather than come back to our departure airport, and land. The company did not want us to do an overweight landing. At our divert airport, at the gate, an airline mechanic recovered a gear pin from the nose gear and brought it to the cockpit. After contact with the company, and receiving all appropriate releases, we departed for our original destination.

Title: A B738 CREW, DEPARTING MSP, COULD NOT RAISE THE NOSE LNDG GEAR.
Narrative: AFTER ARRIVING AT THE ACFT AND CHKING THE MEL/LOGBOOK AND CONFERRING WITH THE CAPT, IT WAS DETERMINED I WOULD BE THE PNF. I EXITED THE ACFT AND CONDUCTED A THOROUGH INSPECTION OF THE ACFT EXTERIOR AS REQUIRED. I AM CONFIDENT THAT I VERIFIED THAT THE GND LOCK PIN WAS REMOVED FROM ALL LNDG GEAR, AND THAT THE NOSE GEAR STEERING LOCKOUT PIN WAS INSTALLED. ON COMPLETION OF THE EXTERIOR INSPECTION, I RETURNED TO THE COCKPIT AND COMPLETED ALL APPROPRIATE CHKLISTS. THE DEP WAS NORMAL UNTIL WE COULD NOT RAISE THE GEAR. THE CAPT AND COMPANY ZZZ DETERMINED THAT WE WOULD CONTINUE TOWARD OUR DEST AND DIVERT, RATHER THAN COME BACK TO OUR DEP ARPT, AND LAND. THE COMPANY DID NOT WANT US TO DO AN OVERWT LNDG. AT OUR DIVERT ARPT, AT THE GATE, AN AIRLINE MECH RECOVERED A GEAR PIN FROM THE NOSE GEAR AND BROUGHT IT TO THE COCKPIT. AFTER CONTACT WITH THE COMPANY, AND RECEIVING ALL APPROPRIATE RELEASES, WE DEPARTED FOR OUR ORIGINAL DEST.
