Narrative:
I was with a student coming into the pattern, made 2 radio calls. The first we were cleared for right hand traffic. We entered the pattern on final. We tried again and got nothing, so about 40 ft high I told my student to go around, but he landed. We kept on the roll, took off and the tower came back and said to make left traffic and that we weren't cleared to land.
