Narrative:
On takeoff, #2 engine service panel (top) blew off at rotation viewed by omc sitting over wing who told flight attendant. I was notified at 5000 ft. We leveled off, called maintenance and dispatch. All agreed to return to airport. Airport operations found panel on runway. Maintenance inspection aircraft and panel and replaced panel. Maintenance also inspected aircraft for overweight landing (200 pounds over maximum -- 114200 pounds). We departed ZZZ about 2 hours late and flew uneventfully to ZZZ.
