Narrative:
First officer made a visual approach and landing to runway 34 richmond, va (kric). As aircraft slowed, change of controls was initiated and simultaneously given 'hold short of runway 2, remain on runway.' captain had aircraft and first officer read back clearance. We proceeded to end of runway and made a 90 degree turn to face runway 2 on runway 34. Tower asked our position and we gave it. Tower was concerned that we were on runway 2. Another aircraft was landing on runway 2. We were on runway 34 facing runway 2 and taxiway Q. (Maybe tower should tell aircraft to hold short and remain on runway heading to avoid confusion.)

Narrative: FO MADE A VISUAL APCH AND LNDG TO RWY 34 RICHMOND, VA (KRIC). AS ACFT SLOWED, CHANGE OF CTLS WAS INITIATED AND SIMULTANEOUSLY GIVEN 'HOLD SHORT OF RWY 2, REMAIN ON RWY.' CAPT HAD ACFT AND FO READ BACK CLRNC. WE PROCEEDED TO END OF RWY AND MADE A 90 DEG TURN TO FACE RWY 2 ON RWY 34. TWR ASKED OUR POS AND WE GAVE IT. TWR WAS CONCERNED THAT WE WERE ON RWY 2. ANOTHER ACFT WAS LNDG ON RWY 2. WE WERE ON RWY 34 FACING RWY 2 AND TXWY Q. (MAYBE TWR SHOULD TELL ACFT TO HOLD SHORT AND REMAIN ON RWY HDG TO AVOID CONFUSION.)
