Narrative:
After talking to approach when going into mgm, we were turned over to tower. When we changed frequencys, the radio became inoperative and we were unable to receive from mgm tower. We had been vectored for straight-in runway 28 and received the steady green light from the tower. After landing, my student began to turn off the runway onto the adjoining runway headed toward the taxiway. I was looking at the tower to see the flashing green light. Meanwhile, he was unfamiliar with the airport and saw another twin taxiing toward the taxiway we were headed to, so he swerved back on the active runway, which I am not sure if we were totally off of or just on the edge of, down to the next taxiway and then to the right. After clear of the runway, we saw a light twin (I think an aztec but not sure) make a go around. I believe it was because we came back on the runway.

Title: C182RG STUDENT SWERVED BACK ONTO THE RWY EDGE AFTER TAXIING OFF AFTER LNDG TO AVOID ANOTHER ACFT ON THE TXWY. THE INSTRUCTOR WAS LOOKING FOR LIGHT SIGNALS SINCE HE HAD LOST COM WHEN SWITCHING TO TWR FROM APCH CTL. TWR CTLR SENT AN AZTEC AROUND.
Narrative: AFTER TALKING TO APCH WHEN GOING INTO MGM, WE WERE TURNED OVER TO TWR. WHEN WE CHANGED FREQS, THE RADIO BECAME INOP AND WE WERE UNABLE TO RECEIVE FROM MGM TWR. WE HAD BEEN VECTORED FOR STRAIGHT-IN RWY 28 AND RECEIVED THE STEADY GREEN LIGHT FROM THE TWR. AFTER LNDG, MY STUDENT BEGAN TO TURN OFF THE RWY ONTO THE ADJOINING RWY HEADED TOWARD THE TXWY. I WAS LOOKING AT THE TWR TO SEE THE FLASHING GREEN LIGHT. MEANWHILE, HE WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH THE ARPT AND SAW ANOTHER TWIN TAXIING TOWARD THE TXWY WE WERE HEADED TO, SO HE SWERVED BACK ON THE ACTIVE RWY, WHICH I AM NOT SURE IF WE WERE TOTALLY OFF OF OR JUST ON THE EDGE OF, DOWN TO THE NEXT TXWY AND THEN TO THE R. AFTER CLR OF THE RWY, WE SAW A LIGHT TWIN (I THINK AN AZTEC BUT NOT SURE) MAKE A GAR. I BELIEVE IT WAS BECAUSE WE CAME BACK ON THE RWY.
