Narrative:
During taxi-in at msy ground control told us to hold short of the active runway 28 as we were taxiing on runway 24. They then told us to expedite across runway 28, but were partially blocked on their transmission. As we taxied toward the hold short line, I requested a clarification of the crossing clearance. Ground then told us to hold short, but it was too late. We were already across the hold line. We advised ground control twice that we were across the line and they acknowledged. After an air carrier jet landed, we once again were cleared to cross runway 28 and did so uneventfully.

Title: ACR CREW TAXIING TO THE TERMINAL QUESTION MSY GC ABOUT A PARTIALLY BLOCKED XMISSION AND THAT THEY ARE BEYOND THE HOLD SHORT LINE OF ACTIVE RWY WHILE TFC IS LNDG.
Narrative: DURING TAXI-IN AT MSY GND CTL TOLD US TO HOLD SHORT OF THE ACTIVE RWY 28 AS WE WERE TAXIING ON RWY 24. THEY THEN TOLD US TO EXPEDITE ACROSS RWY 28, BUT WERE PARTIALLY BLOCKED ON THEIR XMISSION. AS WE TAXIED TOWARD THE HOLD SHORT LINE, I REQUESTED A CLARIFICATION OF THE XING CLRNC. GND THEN TOLD US TO HOLD SHORT, BUT IT WAS TOO LATE. WE WERE ALREADY ACROSS THE HOLD LINE. WE ADVISED GND CTL TWICE THAT WE WERE ACROSS THE LINE AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED. AFTER AN ACR JET LANDED, WE ONCE AGAIN WERE CLRED TO CROSS RWY 28 AND DID SO UNEVENTFULLY.
