Narrative:
Primary and secondary target lost on a 4-5 mi final and reacquired on a 3 mi final. Known blind spot. Callback conversation with facility specialist revealed the following information: advised that radar data is lost with traffic on final, below 1300 ft, between 1-4 mi final runway 9L, west of tmb. Partial, but inconsistent radar tracking, is lost with traffic on runway 9R extending 4 mi west of airport. There is no apparent radar tracking problem if traffic is more than 2 mi north of runway 9R, or 2 mi south of the runway 9L finals. Tmb is slaved from the mia approach radar system, approximately 12 mi northeast of tmb. A sample radar data track was taken in nov/01 and sent to the FAA technical center. The specialist is not aware of any results.

Narrative: PRIMARY AND SECONDARY TARGET LOST ON A 4-5 MI FINAL AND REACQUIRED ON A 3 MI FINAL. KNOWN BLIND SPOT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH FACILITY SPECIALIST REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: ADVISED THAT RADAR DATA IS LOST WITH TFC ON FINAL, BELOW 1300 FT, BTWN 1-4 MI FINAL RWY 9L, W OF TMB. PARTIAL, BUT INCONSISTENT RADAR TRACKING, IS LOST WITH TFC ON RWY 9R EXTENDING 4 MI W OF ARPT. THERE IS NO APPARENT RADAR TRACKING PROB IF TFC IS MORE THAN 2 MI N OF RWY 9R, OR 2 MI S OF THE RWY 9L FINALS. TMB IS SLAVED FROM THE MIA APCH RADAR SYS, APPROX 12 MI NE OF TMB. A SAMPLE RADAR DATA TRACK WAS TAKEN IN NOV/01 AND SENT TO THE FAA TECHNICAL CTR. THE SPECIALIST IS NOT AWARE OF ANY RESULTS.
