Narrative:
During the climb to 7000 ft on a SID from ont ATC advised us of a helicopter descending and that they had us in sight. I advised I was looking for the traffic. I did not have in insight. At approximately 6000 ft in the climb we received a TCAS RA followed by the message 'monitor vertical speed.' the helicopter passed approximately 500 ft below us in a descent. ATC called and told us we were clear of traffic. No other action taken.
