Narrative:
At gate xx in lga, a mechanic came on board and asked flight attendant for a drink of water. She gave him water. He said 'god bless you,' and left. I don't remember seeing an identify tag on him. I should have called the gsc to check into it, and should have asked to take a look at his identify.

Title: A B737-300 CAPT, WHILE IN THE GATE AT LGA, WITNESSED A PERSON, WITH NO VISIBLE FORM OF IDENT, ENTER THE CABIN CLAIMING TO BE A MECH.
Narrative: AT GATE XX IN LGA, A MECH CAME ON BOARD AND ASKED FLT ATTENDANT FOR A DRINK OF WATER. SHE GAVE HIM WATER. HE SAID 'GOD BLESS YOU,' AND LEFT. I DON'T REMEMBER SEEING AN IDENT TAG ON HIM. I SHOULD HAVE CALLED THE GSC TO CHK INTO IT, AND SHOULD HAVE ASKED TO TAKE A LOOK AT HIS IDENT.
