Narrative:
I was cleared to take off on runway 10R at the B3 intersection with instructions to turn right to a heading of 180 degrees. For whatever reason, I had it in my mind that I was departing runway 28L in the general direction of my destination. So I read back 'cleared to take off runway 28L with a left turn to 180 degrees.' in the takeoff roll, the tower controller advised me to hold my position and execute a 180 degree turn on the runway, then proceeded to explain to me what I did wrong. There was another airplane on final for runway 10R, that I believe was still 5 mi out, however, I'm not sure of the exact distance. The tower controller was very polite, professional, and extremely accommodating. I appreciated this very much and he quickly had me on my way.

Title: C310 PLT TURNS THE WRONG DIRECTION WHEN TAXIING ONTO A RWY INTXN AND COMMENCED TKOF ROLL UNTIL ALERTED BY ATCT CTLR OF HIS MISTAKE AND ANOTHER ACFT ON A LONG FINAL FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION.
Narrative: I WAS CLRED TO TAKE OFF ON RWY 10R AT THE B3 INTXN WITH INSTRUCTIONS TO TURN R TO A HDG OF 180 DEGS. FOR WHATEVER REASON, I HAD IT IN MY MIND THAT I WAS DEPARTING RWY 28L IN THE GENERAL DIRECTION OF MY DEST. SO I READ BACK 'CLRED TO TAKE OFF RWY 28L WITH A L TURN TO 180 DEGS.' IN THE TKOF ROLL, THE TWR CTLR ADVISED ME TO HOLD MY POS AND EXECUTE A 180 DEG TURN ON THE RWY, THEN PROCEEDED TO EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT I DID WRONG. THERE WAS ANOTHER AIRPLANE ON FINAL FOR RWY 10R, THAT I BELIEVE WAS STILL 5 MI OUT, HOWEVER, I'M NOT SURE OF THE EXACT DISTANCE. THE TWR CTLR WAS VERY POLITE, PROFESSIONAL, AND EXTREMELY ACCOMMODATING. I APPRECIATED THIS VERY MUCH AND HE QUICKLY HAD ME ON MY WAY.
