Narrative:

During cruise, we noticed a lateral imbal on the fuel. We then proceeded to balance the tanks. During this time period, the flight attendants handed us a list of cabin discrepancies that needed to be written up in the logbook. We also sent the write-ups via ACARS. The interruptions caused us to forget that the xfeed was still open for balancing. The result was a lateral imbal of 5400 pounds on landing. I would probably have one crew member be vigilant of duties pertaining to the flight deck while the other does the request of flight attendant.
