Narrative:
I was taxiing inbound to park the aircraft. The aircraft hit a deice truck as we were taxiing into our parking spot. We were on the centerline and the deice truck was over the white line. The white line is a safe zone for us. We are told by company policy that if something is over the white line, we must have a marshaller. If there is something within the white line, we are safe to taxi -- as long as we stay on the centerline. There was a ramp agent at the deice truck giving us a 'thumbs up' signal, clearing us to continue in, even though the truck was over the line. The ramp agent had wands and continued to give us the thumbs up signal. The first officer said everything was clear on the right side of the aircraft. I continued to look from the front of the aircraft to the left side. I kept getting a thumbs up signal so I proceeded forward slowly. I struck the deice truck with left wingtip of the aircraft. Prior to the passenger deplaning, I made sure everyone was ok and explained what had happened via the PA.

Title: SF34 CREW HIT A DEICING TRUCK WHILE BEING GUIDED BY AN ACFT MARSHALLER WHILE PARKING AT DTW.
Narrative: I WAS TAXIING INBOUND TO PARK THE ACFT. THE ACFT HIT A DEICE TRUCK AS WE WERE TAXIING INTO OUR PARKING SPOT. WE WERE ON THE CTRLINE AND THE DEICE TRUCK WAS OVER THE WHITE LINE. THE WHITE LINE IS A SAFE ZONE FOR US. WE ARE TOLD BY COMPANY POLICY THAT IF SOMETHING IS OVER THE WHITE LINE, WE MUST HAVE A MARSHALLER. IF THERE IS SOMETHING WITHIN THE WHITE LINE, WE ARE SAFE TO TAXI -- AS LONG AS WE STAY ON THE CTRLINE. THERE WAS A RAMP AGENT AT THE DEICE TRUCK GIVING US A 'THUMBS UP' SIGNAL, CLRING US TO CONTINUE IN, EVEN THOUGH THE TRUCK WAS OVER THE LINE. THE RAMP AGENT HAD WANDS AND CONTINUED TO GIVE US THE THUMBS UP SIGNAL. THE FO SAID EVERYTHING WAS CLR ON THE R SIDE OF THE ACFT. I CONTINUED TO LOOK FROM THE FRONT OF THE ACFT TO THE L SIDE. I KEPT GETTING A THUMBS UP SIGNAL SO I PROCEEDED FORWARD SLOWLY. I STRUCK THE DEICE TRUCK WITH L WINGTIP OF THE ACFT. PRIOR TO THE PAX DEPLANING, I MADE SURE EVERYONE WAS OK AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAD HAPPENED VIA THE PA.
