Narrative:
The inbound crew reported a problem with the left thrust reverser. Maintenance decided to lock out the thrust reverser in accordance with the MEL. During engine start, I noticed a left reverser 'unlocked' indication on EICAS. We returned to the gate. Maintenance reviewed the MEL and found they had not reset a circuit breaker after accomplishing the lockout procedure. With all indications now normal, we departed. En route we discovered that they still hadn't properly accomplished the MEL procedure -- 2 other circuit breakers were supposed to have been pulled and collared. We reported the situation to company, and under their direction pulled and collared the correct circuit breakers. I feel like maintenance really let us down on this one, and will check more carefully next time to make sure the work is done correctly.
