Narrative:

I was the first officer on air carrier X flight abc dtw to stl, level at FL270 over fwa VOR. We received an RA on the TCASII that said 'climb.' at the same time, the controller said to turn to 350 degrees which was 90 degrees off our wbound heading. I disconnected the autoplt, initiated a climb and turned north. At FL274, the TCASII said 'clear of conflict.' the captain told the controller of the RA and maneuver. The controller then cleared us back on course. This all happened within 5 seconds and we never saw the traffic.
