Narrative:

I am a controller at pns approach control. We provide arrival service to navy pensacola airport and whiting airports (north and south). The navy towers at these airports are required to provide pns approach control with the code letter designating the current broadcast on the ATIS. The navy towers (npa, nse, and ndz) consistently fail to provide the code to pns approach and/or fail to broadcast current information on their ATIS. This results in the approach control giving old, inaccurate WX, runway, and equipment information to inbound pilots. Add to this obviously dangerous situation the fact that a large percentage of the pilots here are trainees. Apparently, the navy does not care, as this situation has occurred regularly over the last 5 yrs.

Title: P31 CTLR CONCERNED WITH INTERMITTENT REQUIRED COORD PROCS FOR P31 MILFAC'S TO ADVISE P31 OF APPROPRIATE AND TIMELY ATIS INFO FOR NPA, NSE, AND NDZ MILFAC'S.

Narrative: I AM A CTLR AT PNS APCH CTL. WE PROVIDE ARR SVC TO NAVY PENSACOLA ARPT AND WHITING ARPTS (N AND S). THE NAVY TWRS AT THESE ARPTS ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE PNS APCH CTL WITH THE CODE LETTER DESIGNATING THE CURRENT BROADCAST ON THE ATIS. THE NAVY TWRS (NPA, NSE, AND NDZ) CONSISTENTLY FAIL TO PROVIDE THE CODE TO PNS APCH AND/OR FAIL TO BROADCAST CURRENT INFO ON THEIR ATIS. THIS RESULTS IN THE APCH CTL GIVING OLD, INACCURATE WX, RWY, AND EQUIP INFO TO INBOUND PLTS. ADD TO THIS OBVIOUSLY DANGEROUS SIT THE FACT THAT A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF THE PLTS HERE ARE TRAINEES. APPARENTLY, THE NAVY DOES NOT CARE, AS THIS SIT HAS OCCURRED REGULARLY OVER THE LAST 5 YRS.
