Narrative:
While reading for departure at ZZZ I called short of pad 2 for takeoff with southeast departure. ZZZ tower cleared me for takeoff at pad 2. Upon hovering into position, tower asked if I had the aircraft moving south on the taxiway. I advised that I did not. One of my flight nurses (passenger) asked if I saw the aircraft and I said no. She said 'pull up.' I brought the aircraft to a 40-50 ft hover, saw white lights pass underneath me, moved to the side of the pad and saw a BE18? (Older taildragger twin) to my rear (north). We then took off on our flight. Upon debrief with my medical crew, they stated the other aircraft had no lights on (it was dark still) and moving at an apparent high rate of speed on the taxiway. The other aircraft apparently made no effort to slow or go around me and passed under me maybe by 30 ft. Lights on it were turned on only after it passed under me. All position, strobes and landing lights on my aircraft were on.

Title: A109 EMS HELI PLT MADE A RAPID VERT ASCENT TO AVOID AN ONCOMING TWIN TAXIING ON THE SAME RWY PAST HIS POS.
Narrative: WHILE READING FOR DEP AT ZZZ I CALLED SHORT OF PAD 2 FOR TKOF WITH SE DEP. ZZZ TWR CLRED ME FOR TKOF AT PAD 2. UPON HOVERING INTO POS, TWR ASKED IF I HAD THE ACFT MOVING S ON THE TXWY. I ADVISED THAT I DID NOT. ONE OF MY FLT NURSES (PAX) ASKED IF I SAW THE ACFT AND I SAID NO. SHE SAID 'PULL UP.' I BROUGHT THE ACFT TO A 40-50 FT HOVER, SAW WHITE LIGHTS PASS UNDERNEATH ME, MOVED TO THE SIDE OF THE PAD AND SAW A BE18? (OLDER TAILDRAGGER TWIN) TO MY REAR (N). WE THEN TOOK OFF ON OUR FLT. UPON DEBRIEF WITH MY MEDICAL CREW, THEY STATED THE OTHER ACFT HAD NO LIGHTS ON (IT WAS DARK STILL) AND MOVING AT AN APPARENT HIGH RATE OF SPD ON THE TXWY. THE OTHER ACFT APPARENTLY MADE NO EFFORT TO SLOW OR GO AROUND ME AND PASSED UNDER ME MAYBE BY 30 FT. LIGHTS ON IT WERE TURNED ON ONLY AFTER IT PASSED UNDER ME. ALL POS, STROBES AND LNDG LIGHTS ON MY ACFT WERE ON.
