Narrative:
We had been assigned the banyo 3 departure, zuri transition off scottsdale with a takeoff on runway 3. I was the captain and PF. I had it in my mind that I would turn left to a heading of 260 degrees. When I started the left turn, the PNF said 'right turn, right turn.' I thought I must have been mistaken about the left turn and turned right. When we contacted phx departure they informed as it should have been a left turn as I originally thought. I think this event happened because I didn't have it firmly enough in my head what I was going to do and let the PNF talk me into a turn in the wrong direction. I only have about 20 hours as a captain, and I'm accustomed to being the copilot for the pilot who was the PNF. Since the roles were reversed on paper, but not necessarily in my mind, I followed his instructions without questioning them enough. We should have done a more thorough preflight, predep briefing so that we were both on the same page. Obviously, we weren't.

Title: LEARJET 35 CAPT TURNED THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION DURING DEP CLB AFTER TKOF DUE TO THE FO INSTRUCTING HIM TO TURN THAT WAY WHEN HE HAD ALREADY STARTED THE TURN IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION.
Narrative: WE HAD BEEN ASSIGNED THE BANYO 3 DEP, ZURI TRANSITION OFF SCOTTSDALE WITH A TKOF ON RWY 3. I WAS THE CAPT AND PF. I HAD IT IN MY MIND THAT I WOULD TURN L TO A HDG OF 260 DEGS. WHEN I STARTED THE L TURN, THE PNF SAID 'R TURN, R TURN.' I THOUGHT I MUST HAVE BEEN MISTAKEN ABOUT THE L TURN AND TURNED R. WHEN WE CONTACTED PHX DEP THEY INFORMED AS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A L TURN AS I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT. I THINK THIS EVENT HAPPENED BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE IT FIRMLY ENOUGH IN MY HEAD WHAT I WAS GOING TO DO AND LET THE PNF TALK ME INTO A TURN IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. I ONLY HAVE ABOUT 20 HRS AS A CAPT, AND I'M ACCUSTOMED TO BEING THE COPLT FOR THE PLT WHO WAS THE PNF. SINCE THE ROLES WERE REVERSED ON PAPER, BUT NOT NECESSARILY IN MY MIND, I FOLLOWED HIS INSTRUCTIONS WITHOUT QUESTIONING THEM ENOUGH. WE SHOULD HAVE DONE A MORE THOROUGH PREFLT, PREDEP BRIEFING SO THAT WE WERE BOTH ON THE SAME PAGE. OBVIOUSLY, WE WEREN'T.
